Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.

What does a Civil Engineer do?

Civil Engineers design, build, supervise, operate, and maintain construction projects and systems in the public and private sector, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment.

As a Civil Engineering Technician Apprentice what can I expect to be doing?

Our apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to train primarily as a Civil Engineering Technician. You will be assisting the Marshalls CPM Technical teams with their duties for the drainage, rail, retaining walls, offsite solutions, specialist precast and water management precast concrete sectors, whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

You will be involved in the preparation and design of working drawings for a range of clients, you will assist in Company procedures for product manufacturing. Assisting in all activities undertaken by the office relating to Civil Engineering

You will be assigned a mentor, a member of the Marshalls CPM team who will be there throughout your training to provide support, to assist in observations and assist in setting day to day work.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person to working in a growing market sector. A Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management (Civil Engineering) will be offered to the successful candidate. Attendance at the University of Wolverhampton will be required for one day per week.

The candidate will need to be confident and well presented, have excellent communication and organizational skills and good literacy and numeracy skills.

Qualifications Required 2 A Levels with one in Maths with a minimum D

Annual Wage £15,000.00 plus

Working Week 37.5 hours to be agreed and to include one day a week at University

Working Location Primarily Wombourne, Wolverhampton with visits to other Marshalls CPM works and locations
