An opportunity has arisen at our Mells works in Somerset for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Operations Team
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the successful candidate will be practical and enjoy the challenge of both mechanical and engineering work. Health and Safety is a key part of this position together with a flexible approach to working on a 6.00 – 17.00 shift which includes 2.75 hours overtime per day. Weekend work will be expected as and when required.
The position requires someone to have a strong understanding of hydraulics and the ability to fault find in a timely manner, be able to understand and interpret hydraulic schematic drawings, the ability to weld using Manual Arc and fabrication skills would be advantageous. As well as operate a safe working environment within a designated area of responsibility and work within a team of skilled fitters in a busy maintenance department and maintain plant and equipment to a high standard with the aim of keeping it running efficiently and to the optimum level.
If you are interested in this position you will need to have served an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, have IOSH Managing Health and Safety (Training can be given) and be electrically dual-skilled.
