When installing traditional manholes, a compound rubber and bitumen joint sealing strip is used to provide a permanent flexible watertight seal, along with a primer. This can be used on precast concrete box culverts, manholes, inspection chambers, shafts, tunnels and some pipe sections. Please note that sealant is not required on sealed manholes.

Marshalls CPM concrete joint sealing strip is resistant to chemical and biological attack. Recommended by precast concrete manufacturers; when used with primer it meets BS EN 1917:2002 requirements for manholes (no need for concrete surrounds) and has a worldwide proven track record for over 50 years.
